    • Yeah, you should be able to do that with Calibre, although the legality of that may be gray since technically you don’t “own” a Kindle book, just a license to it. I’ve heard people on both sides of that issue though.

    • Considering the Church Fathers are well within the Public Domain… lol. And yes there is a debate as to how much you own the book. Generally I feel if there is DRM then you should not break that, but if it is not DRM it is open for you to do so. However, it should only be for personal use. Just as I am able to make copies of books in my posession for personal use. Of course in theory you could highlight the entire Kindle work and have a copy in the clippings document on your Kindle.

    • This is a fair point. That is why with Kindle books I only convert if no DRM is present and only for my own use. I do not try and break DRM if it is on the file.
